Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Cosine Studio ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the Veymote app for iPhone and iPad, the companion Apple Watch app, Home Screen widgets, the screen-broadcast extension, and this website.

Our core principle: Veymote's remote-control, device-discovery, media-service, and playlist features primarily operate on your device and within your local network. We do not operate a developer server that receives your TV-control history, pairing credentials, playlists, or mirrored screen content. Firebase processes limited technical data for remote configuration and crash diagnostics as described below. We do not sell personal information.

1. Scope of This Policy

This policy applies to the main Veymote app, its companion Apple Watch app, widgets, ReplayKit Broadcast Upload Extension, and the Veymote pages on this website. TV manufacturers, Apple, Google Cast, media sources, and any third-party services you choose to access may have their own privacy policies.

2. Information Veymote Processes

2.1 Local Network and TV Device Information

When you scan for, add, or control a TV, Veymote may process the following information locally:

This information is used to discover TVs, establish connections, and display the device's actual state. Network requests generally travel directly between your Apple device and a TV or receiver on the same local network.

2.2 Pairing Credentials and Certificates

Some TVs require a PIN, token, pre-shared key, client certificate, or device authorization. Veymote stores credentials required by compatible protocols in the iOS Keychain. Ordinary device configuration may be stored in the app's local storage or App Group so that the main app, widgets, and Apple Watch can provide shortcuts you choose to configure. We do not upload these credentials to a developer server.

2.3 Microphone and Speech Recognition

Veymote accesses the microphone only when you use a voice-input feature and grant permission. When you use Apple's system speech recognition, Apple may process the audio and recognition request under your system settings and Apple's policies. When you use native voice remote control with a compatible Android or Google TV, audio is sent to the TV you selected during the current local-network session. We do not retain voice recordings on a developer server.

2.4 Local Media, Casting, and Screen Mirroring

After you select a photo, video, audio file, or other file, Veymote processes that content only to preview it, play it, or cast it to the receiver you selected. Local media and screen-mirroring services temporarily make the content available on your local network; another device on that network that knows the receiver address may be able to access it. The service stops when you stop casting or broadcasting, or close the related feature. We do not receive or store this media or mirrored screen content.

2.5 IPTV Playlists

M3U or M3U8 addresses, channel names, icon URLs, and playlists that you type, paste, or import are stored on your device. During playback, your device connects directly to the playlist or media address, and that provider may receive your IP address and request information. Veymote does not provide IPTV subscriptions or a channel catalog, and we do not upload your playlists to us.

2.6 Purchases and Subscriptions

Apple App Store and StoreKit process Remote Pro purchases, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and receipt validation. Veymote reads verified product identifiers and entitlement status to unlock the applicable features. We do not receive your complete payment-card details.

2.7 Google Cast SDK

When the app integrates or uses Google Cast, Google's SDK may process device identifiers and technical information for device discovery, casting, product interaction, and diagnostics. According to the SDK's privacy disclosures, such data is used for app functionality or analytics and is not used to track you across apps. This processing is also governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

2.8 Firebase Remote Config and Crashlytics

Veymote uses Firebase Remote Config to retrieve app configuration values and Firebase Crashlytics to identify, measure, and diagnose crashes and non-fatal software errors. These services may process an app-installation identifier, IP address, device model, operating-system and app versions, language, timestamps, crash stack traces, technical state, and diagnostic logs associated with a failure. Remote Config requests may also include technical information needed to select and deliver a configuration. We do not intentionally place TV pairing credentials, remote-control history, playlists, voice recordings, selected media, or mirrored screen content in Firebase reports. This processing is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

2.9 Support Communications

If you choose to email support, we receive the email address, message, attachments, and device or app information you provide to help us address the issue. Do not include TV passwords, pairing tokens, playlist credentials, or unnecessary personal content in support messages.

3. Permissions

You can revoke permissions in iOS Settings. Features that depend on a revoked permission may stop working.

4. How We Use Information

Veymote processes the information described above only to:

5. Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell personal information or use Veymote data to track you across apps. To perform a feature you request, information may be processed by:

The Veymote pages on this website do not include advertising, cross-site trackers, or first-party analytics scripts.

6. Retention and Deletion

You can delete saved devices, playlists, scenes, and favorites in the app and revoke pairing on the TV. You can also uninstall the app to remove its sandbox data. See Privacy Choices for more detailed controls.

7. Security

Veymote uses protections such as the iOS App Sandbox, Keychain, App Group entitlement boundaries, TLS where a supported protocol provides it, input and response size limits, allowlisting for identifiers returned by TVs, and session isolation. Some older TV protocols provide only unencrypted local-network communication. Use those devices only on a home or workplace network you trust. No system can guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

Veymote is intended for a general audience, is not directed to children, and does not knowingly collect children's personal information through a developer server. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us to request deletion.

9. Your Choices and Rights

You may refuse or revoke system permissions, delete local records, stop casting or broadcasting, cancel a subscription, or contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information contained in support communications. Your specific rights depend on the law in your region.

10. Updates to This Policy

We may update this policy when features, third-party SDKs, or legal requirements change. We will revise the effective date at the top of the page and provide an appropriate notice of material changes.
